Hunting for the Largest Fish that the Great Lakes has to offer!!!

June 29 -

Capt. Adam donated Passin' Gas for the day to the MOMC Michigan Special Olympics charity derby.  Adam and Mike were to take out a crew of guys from Western Mechanical.

The day started out great with the first fish being a 46 1/2" Muskie.

The guys worked hard all day long picking and poking away at them.  Final tally for the day would be 12 boated in 6 hours of trolling, but they would not get anything larger than the first fish.

On behalf of all the supporting clubs MOMC, DYC, GPYC, DAC, & CCD; a donation of over $10,000 was made to Michigan Special Olympics.

Took some time to update the tournament and derby webpages.

We had a pretty good opening weekend for the muskie opener.  We had a really fun time. We boated around 25 muskies over the two days. Most of them were juvenile fish and we did not even need the net for them. But we did manage a 52 1/8" fish Saturday evening that weighed 29.75 pounds and Sunday we got a 45" fish.

Vessel Fishigan has been grounded for now.

Jim Frazer invited the Fishigan Crew to fish with him in the first salmon tournament of the year.  This event was run by the BWSA; with a sidebet of $500 run by Anderson's Pro Bait in Port Huron.  25 boats fished in this event.  We ended up going 5 for 6. 3 Kings (11, 11, and 10 pounds) and 2 coho. Bombers on rigger, diver, and boards took all fish. Those low 40 degree waters really makes the spring kings a blast.

Jim has been a BWSA member since 1996 and we guess that he has Captained his boat in well over 30 club tournaments without a win. But we were able to win both events on this day. He deserved it with all of the work he had put into the Salmon Stakes tournament.

Next on the tournament schedule was the Salmon Stakes event.  We fished onboard Big R w/ captain Ron Siewertsen.  We fished between Lex and Port Sanilac and ended up 14 for 19 (1 King, 11 Coho, 2 toss back lakers).  We ended up in 10th place out of over 120 boats with 33.55 lbs.

We skipped the final two tournaments of the lower Lake Huron Spring fishery.  The Lexington Anglers n' Archers event and the Can-Can in Harbor Beach.

We are looking forward to the opener of Muskie season to start onboard Passin' Gas.
