Great Lakes Sport Fish

Capture Flags

BACK

In the summer of 2004, members of the Fishigan Team (Sara and Mike Rymar) made a trip down to Hatteras, North Carolina.  They were able to make it out on the water a few times for clamming and fishing trips.  While at the marina's, it was noticed that some of the fishing boats would put up capture flags for fish that were caught.  Different flags had different meanings.  There are flags for different ocean sport fish (tuna, mahi, marlins, ect.) Here are a few examples:

Mike sat on the idea of making Great Lake Sport Fish Capture Flags for a while.  In the summer of 2006, after the Fishigan Team had done well in a few tournaments; it was time to get so team shirts.  Mike wanted to incorporate the shirts and the capture flags together.  So if the shirts were ever going to get done, he had to begin imaging of the capture flags.  Here is what he came up with for 2006:

Cold Water Salmon Flags

Chinook Salmon

Coho Salmon

Atlantic Salmon

Pink Salmon

Cold Water Trout Flags

Rainbow Trout/Steelhead

Brown Trout

Lake Trout

Warm Water Great Lakes Sport Fish

Sturgeon

Northern Pike

Sheephead

Muskie

Walleye

Catfish

Carp

Largemouth Bass

Smallmouth Bass

Please keep in mind that this is a first time go at these flags.  Improvements will be made, more may be added, and your suggestions are welcome.  Also, that they are protected under copywrite law.

There is rational behind most of the colors chosen.
